In Honor Of The MET Gala, Here Is A Look Back At Zendaya's First MET Ball In Fausto Puglisi!

Generally, around this time of the year, all of the fashion lovers would be gearing up awaiting the stars' arrivals to grace the red carpet at the annual The MET Gala, but due to the current world health crisis, the grand event was unfortunately postponed until October where the "About Time: Fashion And Duration" Exhibit is scheduled to open. So, in honor of what should have been MET Gala week, we are going to take a look back at all five of Zendaya's Past MET Gala looks, and Beauty looks beginning with Zendaya's very first MET Gala look back in 2015.

If you are reading this blog post, and have no idea what the MET Gala is, allow me to give you a little background history. The MET Gala is the ultra-exclusive annual Grand opening of the new Costume Institute Exhibition, it is also a fundraiser to benefit the Costume Institute at the MET. Ironically, the 2015 MET Gala was the subject of the fashion documentary titled "The First Monday In May" so if you are interested in learning more about the MET Gala, who is in charge, and how the grand event comes together, I would suggest you take a look at it.

The MET Gala event is always held on the first Monday in May. In this case, the exact date was May 2, 2015, the Costume Institute Exhibition for the year was "China: Through The Looking Glass", and the Designer who accompanied Zendaya to the MET Gala was none other than Italian Fashion Designer Fausto Puglisi. Zendaya and her Image Architect LAW Roach have been avid supporters of Fausto Puglisi's eponymous fashion label since his days as Creative Director at Emanuel Ungaro.

The custom Fausto Puglisi dress consisted of a V-Neck top with a very sharp A-Line skirt with long train detail. There was a very noticeable Sun motif throughout the look with embroidered suns in Puglisi's interpretation embroidered throughout the skirt, Zendaya also wore a crown and jewelry accents with the Sun on them.

In the fittings for the dress, they tested the train of the dress on the stairs to mimic how the dress would look on the steps of the MET Museum. Zendaya was originally supposed to wear combat boots with this look because the boots were in the original vision for this look, in which she can be seen wearing in the original fitting photos above.

For the actual shoes, Zendaya the avid lover of a classic pump opted for a pair of Black Suede Jimmy Choo pumps.

                                                           Gilt for $379 | FWRD for $650

For jewels, she wore Jack Vartanian Black Diamond Stud Earrings, the Duck Ring from Lydia Courteille's "Animal Farm" Collection, Pasquale Bruni "Il Peccato" Snake Ring, and Casa Reale Stackable rings.
