Black Owned Spotlight: HGC Apparel!

In the second installment of "Black Owned Spotlight" here is a look at a Black-Owned Clothing brand that Zendaya avidly supports and wore to the Women's March Protest back in 2017. The clothing brand in question is called HGC Apparel, an acronym for Haute Geek Apparel, a clothing brand that fuses classic 90's motifs with the Black American Consciousness. The brand was founded back in 2006 by Marcia Smith, an Alumnus of the HBCU Howard University, who describes herself as a 90's kid, using the aesthetic through all of her clothing.

Back in 2017, Zendaya attended the Women's March protest in Washington D.C. wearing the "Respect, Protect, and Love The Black Woman" crewneck.

Now due to the recent Global Pandemic, they have made a mask version for this design.

If you are apart of Black Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or Tumblr, then you may have already seen some of HGC Apparel's clothing across your feed by now. Most notably their "Martin" themed "Black By Popular Demand" shirts.
